Boo Sends Angels to Help Those in Need

To nine-year-old Boo of Coralville, Iowa, having angels around is as natural as breathing. Ever since he was tiny, he’s talked about them to his mother, Susan.

“He is a very special boy, Martha,” Susan told me recently. “He has always had a “connection” to angels. Ever since he was little, he would talk about angels and how they helped people, especially sick ones.”

She cited an incident that occurred when Boo was just five years old and in Kindergarten. At the time, Susan’s 85-year-old father was rushed to the hospital with what they first believed was pneumonia. Unfortunately, it was much more serious. Her father needed quadruple bypass surgery.

“He wasn’t given much of a chance at all. In fact, I heard nurses telling each other, ‘It’s just a matter of time.’”

During one of Boo’s rare visits to see his grandpa, Susan said he let her father know that the angels would help him.

“Boo reached to his chest, made a fist and put his fist on dad’s chest. He then told grandpa that whenever he sent his angel, she would come with extra love for his heart.”

Despite the youngster’s good intentions, his grandpa made a turn for the worse after the surgery and for several days, Susan wasn’t sure if he’d make it. At about 9 p.m. as she was tucking Boo into bed she attempted to tell him gently that he might loss his grandpa, but the child would have none of it.

“Nicholas listened to it all and stated that he was sending angels to help repair grandpa. He prayed and told the angels, ‘Do it right please. I need my grandpa.”

Boo then pushed out his chest and proclaimed that the angels were to take his love to grandpa.

“He told me the angels would take care of grandpa and his face lit up like no ones business!

The following morning, Susan was amazed to learn that her father was off his ventilator, sitting up and sipping water.

“He had color and he was breathing on his own with no problem. I asked the nurse what happened and she said that about 9 p.m. or so, he began to mess with the tubes, so they called a doctor and removed (it).”

Though the nurse said his sudden turn for the better was due to the medication he was given, Susan said she knew better.

“The doctors say his heart is as good as ever and he could well live until his late 90’s… this is five years after they gave up on him and five years after a little boy sent him angels.”

Of course, grandpa was thrilled as well.

“My dad still tells people, including his surgeon that a little boy and his angels helped him in surgery and in recovery, and the doctors have learned not to question my father when it comes to Boo and his angels.”

When Boo was young, he also saw the 911 incident on television and immediately prayed as he watched the towers fall. This is definitely a child with true compassion for others, which makes his mother very proud and rightly so.

Last year when he was 8, a neighbor was struggling with colon cancer.

“Nicholas sent Craig angels every night,” said Susan. “Craig always nicely thanked him for them saying they comforted him and helped him to sleep. He said he knew when they were there and he told Boo that when they came to see him, his pain faded away, and he could rest easier.”

One particular night, Boo was a bit late getting to bed. Instead of the usual 8 p.m. prayers, it was 9 p.m., but Boo said he was sending “an army of angels” to keep Craig from being afraid and to help him pass over to God. The following day, Susan went to visit Craig and he commented, “My angels were late last night.”

The man added that the angels were an hour late, but when they arrived there were lots of them, which brought Susan to tears.

“He died a few days later and at his funeral mass, the priest told of Craig telling him about the ‘beings’ in his room, in the corners, just out of his sight but being comforting and helping him to make peace. The priest didn’t know Craig all that well, so he was a bit confused. I took him aside later and told him about Nicholas’ angels that he sent. The priest shed a tear himself and stated, “Out of the mouths of babes. Your son has a gift. He has been blessed.”

Susan told me Boo still sends his angels where they are needed and has a heart of gold when it comes to helping others. He even helped his mom when she fell and was told by a doctor that her ankle was broken.

“Nicholas said it needed to be fixed and he sent an angle to be with me. It wasn’t broken and still has the doctors shocked at the fact.”

One time, Susan asked her young son if sending all the angels to others was a good idea. What if he needed their help?

“He seriously told me that God gave him as many angels as he needed and not to worry… he’d never run out of angels.”

But how did Boo come to acquire such a wonderful gift? Susan believes it may have something to do with her own personal belief in angels.

“He is a lot like me,” she said. “I get what my grandmother called “feelings” when things are going to go wrong and I listen to the feelings, and twice my guardian angel has spoken to me right before an accident. The words were as clear as if there were someone in the car with me and both times, I listened. What could have been bad accidents were minor ones because I was smart enough to listen.

Do you believe that God sends angels to help us in our time of need?
I do and I would like to share what happened to me and my daughter yesterday. We were on the road headed for town to a Doctors appointment. All of a sudden we heard that horrible noise that no one wants to hear, especially out in the middle of nowhere……..a flat tire. We pulled over and got out of the car and looked around wondering what we were going to do. No cell phone, no spare tire and miles from anything in either direction. We seen 3 or 4 vehicles pass by us and no one stopping. All of a sudden a white van was backing up to our car. A little old man with white hair got out and said "Having a tire problem"? He looked in the trunk of our car and found the donut which we didn’t know was even in the car because my daughter said her hubby had taken it out to make room for another car part. He fixed our tire and we were off and running again. While driving, I realized something. We were on a 2 lane road. The car that stopped never went by us. He appeared out of nowhere.

I believe he does. Sometimes we see them…sometimes we don’t. Most of the time we don’t. But the Bible does say "Entertain strangers for unknowingly you could be entertaining angels."

No. he was probably on his way to meet with the tooth fairy. Oh by the way, you might want to check your mirrors every now and then. The fact that you missed that guy passing you scares me.

I believe that our Heavenly Father is a kind and loving God. He definitely has angels of this world, and of a heavenly sort. He knows us and hears and answers our prayers (whether we speak them aloud or not.)

I believe that we all have our own personal gaurdian angle that is with us always. I have been hit by a car, rolled a car between a telephone poll and the guide wire (walked away with hardly a scratch), and have had numerous other accidents and injuries and Istill here. MY ANGLE IS TIRED!

Yes, I believe that we are entertaining Angels all around us! God loves His children (us) so much that He places His angels all around us for protection and comfort. It sounds like you had an awsome encounter with one yourself. I’ve heard so many good stories that prove that there are such angels that help us out when we need it. Just don’t forget to thank the Lord for sending that angel to you!

Come on! people we are not in the medieval times anymore. God doesnt send angels, or anything of that sort. Why dont people ever take a step back and think, why do we all have to be so confortable in the status quo that we cant take a step back and say its all bullshit, and if there is a God, look at the size of your ego to think the All mighty will bother sending you a angel to fix your tire!

No I don’t believe angels even exist. The white van may have be driving the other way and as it neared you it slowed down and did a u-turn and then backed up to you. I’m sure there are other explanations.

If it makes you feel good to believe in angels, do so, but there is no empirical proof of them.

I do believe that God helps us in our time of need. I heard a story growing up that has never left me.

There was an elderly woman that was very poor. She could not afford to buy groceries or anything else she needed. One day her neighbor who was an atheist overheard her praying to God. " Dear God please help me. I need groceries. I cant buy them as i have no money. Please Lord, give me some food. Thank you" This neighbor thought " I’ll show her. I’ll buy her some groceries and then when she gets happy and thanks God for them i’ll tell her it was me that bought them." He did just that. He bought the groceries, took them to his neighbors house, left them on the porch and rang the doorbell. He then hid behind some bushes and waited. The woman opened the door and saw the groceries. She started praising the lord for answering her prayers. Her neighbor stepped out from behind the bushes laughing. " Crazy woman God didnt give you those groceries, I bought them." The woman smiled real big and said " That is even better, Not only did He give me the groceries i needed, He used the devil to buy them."

No. But I do believe that we should all try to help others on their journey through life if it is within our power. Apparently, there are others who also believe that.

Absolutely. By the way, the EXACT same thing happened to me a few years ago– got a flat tire by the expressay exit, no cars around, blah blah. The man in white with white hair that stopped for me was not in a van, but in a white car. After fixing my tire, he said he would follow me a few exits just to be sure I was okay. We got on the expressway. and I was keeping an eye on him in my rear view mirror. Somewhere in between exits he vanished. I didn’t see him vanish, but we weren’t near the next exit. He was behindme one moment and then when i looked in the rear view mirror again he was gone. We’d had a nice conversation as he fixed my tire — about showing kindness towards others, because you never know when you are entertaining angels. :)

Yes. God never forgets us. We must love him, for all the things he does for us. We seldomly acknowledge that. Angels come in the form of everybody. We can too be angels.
